Introducing our newest solution to improving the original V belt design on classic 911's. With fast revving engines, light flywheels and hard driving, the standard V belt is known to get thrown off, resulting in the engine overheating, and loss off battery voltage. Later cars where shipped with a belt sensor to indicate when the belt had broken or come off its pullies. Additionally when using high current alternators, the additional power becomes greater than the original V belts design limits and often begins to slip resulting in premature belt wear and ultimately, failure. Often the remedy for this is higher belt tensions, but this can greatly reduce the bearing life of the alternator.
Our solution is to swap to a V-ribbed belt, with multiple ribs resulting in greater power transfer and reliability. Additionally the eccentric mounted idler pulley allows precise belt tension management and adjustment and allows for less belt whip effect ensuring reliable power transfer to the fan and alternator. The original fan drive ratio is retained.
Precision machined from high grade aluminium and anodised black for stealth appearance, the components are light, strong and stylish. All excess material is removed and the parts are designed with FEA computer simulations to validate the strength of the parts ensuring high performance and reliability.
The kit fits 2.7/3.0/3.2 engines, however it requires the 3.2 engine "console", this is the part that bolts directly to the engine around the pulley. The earlier engine consoles do not have adequate clearance for this pulley.
Pulleys are notched to indicate 0, 5, 120 and 240 degree marks for base and cam timing settings.
